Proposal: Artist Showcase + Feedback Sessions via Social Café

I’d like to propose a lightweight, artist-friendly format for sharing artwork and receiving feedback—both asynchronous and live—in the context of our forum and the Social Café Zoom sessions.

The Goal

To create a space where artists can:

  • Share a few recent pieces

  • Add short audio notes explaining their process or intention

  • Ask for feedback from peers

  • Optionally, request a 10–15 minute slot during the next Social Café Zoom to discuss their work live.

  • How it might work

  1. Artwork Posts in Forum:

Artists create a post with:
1–3 images of their work

  • A short voice note (hosted via Vocaroo, Drive, or SoundCloud)

  • A line indicating whether they want feedback, and if they’d like to join a live slot in the Social Café

  1. Feedback Options:

  • Forum members can leave comments

  • Artists requesting live feedback get added to a public timeline for the next Zoom session

  1. Social Café Timeline:

A pinned post or shared doc with a simple schedule showing who’s presenting what and when, with links to their post in the forum.

  1. Why this matters

  • Encourages deeper engagement with each other’s work

  • Bridges asynchronous sharing (forum) with real-time interaction (Zoom)

  • Gives space for quieter voices to share thoughtfully and on their terms

  • Helps build a long-term, high-trust feedback culture within ArtBridge

Technical Note - Not sure if the forum supports this, but two optional features could improve the experience, especially on mobile:

  • Swipeable Image Gallery:

If possible via plugin or embed (e.g., Google Photos), it would make viewing artworks smoother.
PDF Slide Option:
Artists could upload horizontal-layout PDFs as simple, flip-through portfolios.
